Juice Feasting

Juice Feasting is the cleanse of choice for most of the vistors to this site.

Notice the word “feast” here.  This is because during a juice feast, you take in 4-6 quarts of fresh, whole, organic juice on a daily basis that you make at the beginning of each day.

Nothing else.

This method of cleansing involves the most work, but you will be able to go through your day without being sidelined for weeks at a time, as you would if you were doing a water only fast.  You don’t have to go anywhere or see any doctors.  No blood work or vitals, you just have to make your juice and drink it through out the day.

This, as you see, will be easier said then done.

This is the method I recommend for most guys seeing as it’s easier on the system, not as extreme and you keep your energy the whole way through.  As a matter of fact, people who do short bursts of juice feasting find it to be an extremely beneficial life practice that they adhere to several times a year to maintain a clean running internal system.

On a juice feast, you want to take in on a daily basis:

1 pound of celery

2 pounds of a variety of leafy greens (kale, spinach, lettuces, etc)

1 cucumber

A variety of fruits such as apples, pears, carrots. (these all mix well with greens)

You can make stand alone juices such as a quart of fresh squeezed orange juice.

Pineapple Strawberry

Watermelon, celery.

These are just examples of some of my favorites.  Usually I made all of my juice at the beginning of each day and kept them in the fridge in quart sized mason jars.

I did 45 days on juice alone and felt absolutely amazing when I was finished.  You don’t need to go quite that far if you don’t want to. A week should be a good starting and ending point, only continuing on if you feel like it.  Some people absolutely love it.  Others……not so much……

Making the juice and cleaning up will take you a good hour and a half at the beginning of your day, so it is a commitment, but this whole thing is about commitment.  You NEED to be committed to effect change.  There is no easy way.

After a week of FLOODING your body with all of those bioavailable vitamins and mineral and phyto-chemicals, you’re starting things off on the right foot with a clean running engine.

And here’s a secret…

The best way to make all of this juice is NOT in a juicer, but rather, a blender.  Your regular run of the mill blender is not going to cut it for this job.  You need something high powered to break down the leafy greens.

I use the K-tech.

So for example, the greens drink:

1/4-1/2 bunch of celery

Half a large cucumber

A pound of mixed greens

Two apples

Two pears

Get yourself a flexible cutting board and chop your celery and cucumber and add it to the bottom of the blender.  Add a small amount of water to get things going…..4oz, tops.  Start blending and adding the greens as you go along.  For this drink, you’re going to want to sweeten it up a bit, so throw in a couple apples or pears.  This helps with those. Grapes also go well with the greens.

Once the whole blender is full and blended with all of your ingredients, get yourself a nutmilk bag and some type of container.  Pour the contents of the blender into the nutmilk bag while your holding it over the bucket.  Tie off the bag, and start squeezing.

“Juicing” in this way is WAAAAY quicker then using a typical juicer.  Not to mention clean up is a snap because instead of taking apart and cleaning all of the pieces of a juicer, all you need to do is clean the blender container and the nut milk bag and you’re done! Once you “juice” this way, you’ll never want to use a juicer again.

Repeat this step with all of your juices and refrigerate them when done.

Maintain this discipline for a week or more.  Most of  you, if you’ve never tried to cleanse before, a week will be a major milestone for you, so congratulations!  You’ll feel so much better once the cleanse is complete and that’s just the beginning!  You haven’t even started to scratch the surface yet of this transformation.

Time + Consistency = Results
